Dennison hopes for another UAAP finals stint before leaving FEU
MANILA, Philippines – Far Eastern University (FEU) veteran Ron Dennison was not about to let his UAAP career end with a loss.
With the Tamaraws facing off against top-seeded Ateneo de Manila University – a team they have yet to beat in UAAP Season 80 – in the Final 4, Dennison stressed to his teammates just how badly he wanted to win against the Blue Eagles.
"Sa last practice namin last week, kinausap ko sila na ibibigay na namin lahat," Dennison said. "'Yung takot namin, iwanan namin sa practice, at lakas ng loob ang dadalhin namin sa game."
"Ayun ang lumabas sa game namin," he added.
Dennison walked the talk. With the Tamaraws in a do-or-die situation, he scored 17 points in over 28 minutes, making three of his eight three-pointers in the game. Most importantly, his teammates did not let him down: three other FEU players scored in double-digits, and everyone fielded in by coach Olsen Racela contributed in one way or another.
