Andray Blatche ‘sorry’ for missing practice time with Gilas, cites club commitment

Andray Blatche expressed regret for not being able to join Gilas Pilipinas, which is in the middle of preparations for the FIBA World Cup qualifiers.

“Last game tomorrow (Friday) then headed to Manila sorry for the hold up are season got pushed back but see yal soon,” Blatche said in an Instagram post on Thursday, citing his commitment to his professional club.

Gilas is currently playing a series of tune-ups ahead of its game against Japan on November 24 and Chinese-Taipei on November 27.

Blatche, expected to play a vital role for the national squad, explained that the Xinjiang Flying Tigers, the team he plays for in the Chinese Basketball Association, are due to play on Friday.

That means he could be donning the Gilas colors as early as Saturday.
