With new coach beside him, Burn Soriano fired up for November 3 bout

Following his painful loss to Malaysian sensation Saiful “The Vampire” Merican last February, Filipino fighter Burn “The Hitman” Soriano decided to work with a new coach.

Soriano wanted a follow-up to his scintillating 15-second knockout of Mario Satya Wirawan in August 2016, but he got clipped by a devastating knee to the chin by Merican that led to his defeat.

As he ruminated on the loss, Soriano found much-needed help in George Castro, the man behind the renowned Alliance MMA’s strength and conditioning program.

Castro, who has worked with a number of pro MMA fighters such as Dominick Cruz, Ross Pearson, Jeremy Stephens and Chris Leben, moved to Manila to help ONE heavyweight fighter Brandon “The Truth” Vera set up the first Alliance MMA branch in the country.

“Right now, I have a tremendous support system in my training, especially with the help of my coach George Castro. He knows how to bring out the best in me. With him in my corner, it is always exciting to prepare for a bout,” said Soriano.
