Why Ginebra is raving about Slaughter after Game 1 rout
Greg Slaughter made his first PBA finals appearance Friday night when Barangay Ginebra coasted to a 102-87 victory over Meralco in the PBA Governors’ Cup best-of-7 title showdown.
And what a night he had, as he made the biggest impact against Meralco in the series opener.
"He was a real difference for us tonight (Friday)," said coach Tim Cone in the PBA website following the win.
Ginebra's Justin Brownlee said Slaughter’s presence created a lot of opportunities for their team.
"He definitely makes our offense a lot easier," he said.
Slaughter said he was just happy to be playing in the finals after an injury forced him to the sidelines of the Ginebra-Meralco title showdown last year.
