UP coach Perasol focuses on positives after back-to-back losses
MANILA, Philippines – A two-game slide is no reason for University of the Philippines to push the panic button, at least according to head coach Bo Perasol.
The Fighting Maroons have dropped back-to-back games since their impressive upset of defending champion De La Salle University, and their 3-3 win-loss record puts them at fifth place in the league standings.
The second of those two losses was a painful, last-second defeat to Adamson University, wherein UP squandered a 14-point advantage in the first quarter and failed to box out Sean Manganti in the closing seconds, allowing him to score the game-winning put-back.
"I just have to look at the positive of that," Perasol said after the Fighting Maroons slumped to a 73-71 loss.
Perasol noted that he hoped the Fighting Maroons will bounce back after getting routed by Far Eastern University in their previous game. And indeed, his squad played much better on Wednesday.
