Standhardinger absent in Day 1 of PBA Draft Combine
MANILA, Philippines — (UPDATED) Potential No. 1 pick Christian Standhardinger was the lone player to skip the first day of the 2017 PBA Draft Combine.
The Filipino-German standout did not attend Monday’s event at the Gatorade Hoops Center in Mandaluyong, where the official measurements of potential draftees were taken.
The two-day event is a requirement for the 44 draft hopefuls.
Standhardinger’s absence may lead to his disqualification from the final list of the draft applicants.
It was confirmed to ABS-CBN News that Standhardinger is currently in Hong Kong, where he is training with his ASEAN Basketball League team, the Hong Kong Eastern.
If Standhardinger wishes to make it to the final list of draftees, he needs to write a letter explaining his absence.
