Season-ending stats put Fajardo firmly on top of MVP race
The PBA is on the verge of witnessing history as June Mar Fajardo inches closer to a fourth straight MVP, something no other player has achieved before.
The statistical points race, which takes into account a player's individual numbers as well as his team's wins, sees Fajardo leading with 38.58 points, well ahead of San Miguel Beer teammate Alex Cabagnot (32.96) and GlobalPort guard Terrence Romeo (32.01).
For perspective, the 5.62-point gap between Fajardo and Cabagnot is roughly the same as the gap between Cabagnot and the 13th-placer Scottie Thompson of Barangay Ginebra (27.4).
TNT's Jayson Castro (31.52) and another Beerman, Arwind Santos, (30.97) round out the top 5.
Thanks to back-to-back championships, San Miguel has two other players in the top 10 — Chris Ross is at eighth (30.4) and Marcio Lassiter 10th (29.55)
