Reports: Knicks rookie Frank Ntilikina, already limited by injuries, hurts ankle in practice

New York Knicks rookie point guard Frank Ntilikina suffered a left ankle injury at practice on Friday, according to reports.

The severity was unknown, but Ntilikina was helped off of the court by a coach and a teammate, per reports.

Ntilikina has been limited by injuries regularly since being drafted No. 8 overall by New York in June.

The 19-year-old missed the final four of the Knicks' five preseason games due to a knee bruise and missed New York's summer league games due to a knee injury suffered in the final game of his French League season.

Ntilikina was cleared to play in the Knicks' season-opening loss to Oklahoma City on Thursday night. Ntilikina had an assist, a turnover and two missed shots in eight minutes against the Thunder.

He said after the game that his knee was pain-free.

ESPN's Ian Begley contributed to this report.
