Now in the finals, Ranidel asked who he'd rather face — TNT or Ginebra?
Ranidel de Ocampo acknowledged that it feels odd to reach the PBA finals now that he’s playing for a new team.
De Ocampo, who played for TNT for 9 years, was shipped to Meralco in a mid-conference trade and his presence has been crucial for Meralco, especially when he nailed a long two during a key stretch late in Game 3 of the Governors’ Cup semifinals, which helped Meralco sweep Star.
“Iba ang pakiramdam. Dati kasi kapag nag-finals ako nasa TNT ako, ngayon ibang team, Meralco,” de Ocampo said, following a tough 91-88 overtime victory over the Hotshots.
The 6-foot-6 power forward finished with 13 points for Meralco and he has yet to get used to the Bolts’ style of play.
De Ocampo credited his team for helping him out.
“Nagtatrabaho sila ng mabuti, tinutulungan nila ako especially sa defense. Sana tuloy tuloy na, just give me more time,” he said.
