Louie Alas named Phoenix head coach
Former Colegio de San Juan de Letran championship coach Louie Alas has agreed to a 3-year deal to coach Phoenix in the PBA starting next season.
Alas will be taking over the post left by Ariel Vanguardia, according to Spin.
It will be Alas’ second time to become a head coach in the PBA since coaching Mobiline, later rebranded TNT, in 2000 to 2002.
Alas, who led the Letran Knights to 3 NCAA titles (1998, 2003, 2005), served as deputy coach to Alaska’s Alex Compton before moving to Phoenix.
