Konta aiming to zoom back for Zhuhai
British No.1 Johanna Konta has congratulated the players who have reached the BNP Paribas WTA Finals Singapore presented by SC Global - and confirmed that she is still aiming to compete in Zhuhai.
The World No.10 dropped out of Singapore contention following her withdrawal from the Kremlin Cup due to a left foot injury - meaning that France's Caroline Garcia took the last spot for the season-end finale.
However, in an Instagram post, the 26-year-old confirmed that she hoped to recover in time to travel to Singapore as an alternate, and that she still wanted to compete at the WTA Elite Trophy Zhuhai.
"I am obviously sad that I couldn't continue my battle to make it to Singapore, however it's a massive congratulations to all the girls that have qualified," she wrote.
"I am working hard to recover well and still make it to Singapore as an alternate and to be competing in Zhuhai."
