Jerwin Ancajas taps 4 sparmates in preparation for Jamie Conlan fight
To make sure Jerwin Ancajas has everything covered, his camp tapped four sparring partners to prepare the world junior bantamweight champion for his title defense against Ireland’s Jamie Conlan.
Trainer Joven Jimenez said Ancajas must spar 80 rounds to make sure he maintains his “Pretty Boy” image when he goes up against the “Irish Gatti.”
Pete Panitente, Daniel Lim, Allan Alberca and John Mark Alimane are all lined up to spar with Ancajas.
“Para every round, fresh ang ka-sparring niya at pa iba-ibang style ng kalaban,” Joven told ABS-CBN News, adding that Ancajas must prepare for every version of Conlan inside the ring.
“Mayroong sparring mate na laging papasok, mayroon ding lumalaban mula sa labas. Mayroong mabagal at mabilis.
