"This is wonderful for the sport of basketball, considering it was a hard-fought game and both teams gave their best. It was hard but clean," said Jaworski, who joined more than 54,000 fans at Philippine Arena on Friday, the PBA all-time record for gate attendance.

He said he was at the venue not only to cheer the team he used to coach, but also to root for Meralco, which he played for before entering the PBA.

"Meralco was my team for a while and we won a lot of championships," Jaworski said.
