Eagles aim for 11th win vs Warriors

MANILA, Philippines — Already safe in the UAAP Season 80 men’s basketball Final Four, unbeaten Ateneo seeks to take the next step in its flight to glory as it eyes the twice-to-beat bonus today against University of the East at the MOA Arena.

The Eagles soared to their 10th straight win and fourth consecutive Final Four appearance with a hard-earned 70-59 win over Far Eastern last Saturday but they’re far from satisfied.

“We’re happy with that (Final Four) but at the same time, we’re not going to be too happy because we have our next game up,” said assistant coach Sandy Arespacochaga.

“We want to stay focused, be humble, and keep on working hard kasi yung formula namin ay nag-wowork, ayaw namin palitan (we want to stick to our formula which is working for us) and we want the focus, players’ attitude to be the same,” he added.

The Eagles face a UE side (3-8) that’s fighting for survival in the 2 p.m. encounter.
