Black speaks up on Nabong-Alapag incident
MANILA, Philippines – An unfortunate incident between assistant coach Jimmy Alapag and big man Kelly Nabong took some of the shine off Meralco's 72-66 come-from-behind win over the Star Hotshots in Game 1 on Sunday.
While the Bolts were making the fourth quarter rally that pushed them to victory, Nabong and Alapag were apparently involved in a heated exchange.
Later, Nabong was seen on the Meralco bench with his jersey ripped in half. It was later reported that Nabong damaged the door of Meralco's dugout at the Alonte Sports Arena in Biñan.
Meralco coach Norman Black admitted after the game that he was not exactly sure of what happened or what caused the incident.
"I really don't know the whole story," he admitted.
