Australian fighter predicts he will be the first to submit Folayang
On November 10, Martin Nguyen will attempt something no one else has done: submit Eduard Folayang.
The Vietnamese-Australian fighter is so confident about his grappling abilities that he predicts he will be able to force the Filipino mixed martial arts champion to tap out in ONE: Legends of the World.
“My strength in this match is my pace and my cardio. Eduard has legitimate cardio, obviously, training in Baguio City, but going at the pace I go at, I think he is going to fatigue, and my grappling will get the best of him. He is a strong guy, but I will use his weight against him in this match,” he said.
In his 23-fight career, no one has ever succeeded submitting Folayang due to his world-class takedown defense.
The bout will be a crossover match between Nguyen, recently crowned ONE featherweight champion, and the Filipino reigning lightweight king.
