Adamson bounces back, fends off UE
MANILA, Philippines – (UPDATED) The Adamson University Soaring Falcons have not lost back-to-back games in UAAP Season 80, and they made sure that still held true on Wednesday when they played a dangerous University of the East (UE) team.
The Soaring Falcons proved tougher down the stretch, hacking out a 66-57 victory over the tough Red Warriors at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Jerrick Ahanmisi scored 14 points, Papi Sarr tallied a double-double of 12 points and 15 rebounds, while Sean Manganti contributed 10 markers as Adamson bounced back from a huge loss to Ateneo de Manila University last Saturday.
Adamson improved to 6-3 in the league standings to remain at solo third, just behind Ateneo (8-0) and De La Salle University (7-2).
"It was not an easy game for us," admitted Adamson coach Franz Pumaren, who once again got the better of his brother, UE coach Derrick Pumaren. "We struggled. UE is on a streak, and they really played well."
