San Miguel downs Rain Or Shine to stop slide
Chris Ross scored 27 points, as San Miguel Beer downed Rain Or Shine 103-96 in the PBA Governors' Cup at Araneta Coliseum on Wednesday.
The Beermen held a 15-point lead early in the third quarter, but that shrunk to 69-66 less than 3 minutes in the period, courtesy of Maverick Ahanmisi's basket.
A strong start to the fourth put San Miguel up 90-75, as Rain Or Shine wouldn't come closer than 6 points.
Ross, in his best scoring performance this conference, made 10 of 18 from the field and 5-of-8 3-pointers. In his first 6 games, he averaged 3.8 points on 11% shooting from the field (4 of 33) and 6% from downtown (1 of 17).
Marcio Lassiter added 22 points and 3 3-pointers, while June Mar Fajardo finished with 17 points and 14 rebounds.
San Miguel, which entered the game having lost 2 in a row, raised its record to 4-3, tying Rain Or Shine in the standings.
