Medical tests show no fracture in Galanza's right foot
MANILA, Philippines -- X-ray results showed no signs of fracture on Adamson University star Jema Galanza’s right foot according to the Lady Falcon's management Virtual Playground.
“X-ray results are out. Thank God no fracture,” according to a message relayed by Virtual Playground general manager for volleyball operations Mark Salamat to ABS-CBN Sports late Monday night.
Galanza was rushed to Cardinal Santos Medical Center after dislocating her ankle in the third set of Adamson’s 25-19, 25-20, 25-17, victory over College of St. Benilde in Group B of the inaugural Premier Volleyball League Collegiate Conference at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
The Queen Falcon broke her ankle after a bad landing in a block attempt in the third set with Adamson ahead, 5-0. She was howling in pain and her teammates stunned with the angle of her right foot.
Galanza left the game with nine points.
