Lyceum holds off Perpetual to stay perfect, clinch Final 4 spot

MANILA, Philippines – For the first time since joining the NCAA six years ago, the Lyceum of the Philippines University Pirates have made it to the Final 4.

The still unbeaten Pirates (13-0) also became the first team to secure a Final 4 spot in the NCAA Season 93 men's basketball tournament, while also handing the Altas (4-8) their second consecutive loss.

The Marcelino twins combined for 26 points, eight rebounds, and five assists, with Jaycee draining the dagger triple with 41.5 seconds left to make it a double-digit lead, 92-81, and take the fight out of the Altas.

CJ Perez contributed 21 points and nine assists, while Mike Nzeusseu had 15 points and 15 boards.

"It's really something that we're not accustomed to, but part of the journey is making it here," said Lyceum coach Topex Robinson, whose squad finished ninth in Season 92 with a 6-12 record.
