LPU not satisfied even after sailing smoothly to 11-0
Lyceum of the Philippines University had no problems keeping its spotless slate in the NCAA 93 Men’s Basketball Tournament intact.
Squeezing out 34 turnovers and quickly converting them into 39 points, the Pirates dominated from College of St. Benilde from start to finish en route to an 83-69 decision on Friday at the Filoil Flying V Centre.
CJ Perez was their top scorer with 14 points, but the league-leaders got contributions from all over to make sure they remain undefeated now at 11-0.
MJ Ayaay scored all but five of his 12 points in the first quarter to spark LPU’s strong start of 23-10.
They would not look back from there as Cameroonian Mike Nzeusseu joined in on the fun and totaled 10 points and 11 rebounds while also throwing down twice.
