Ginebra, TNT seek quick end to respective quarterfinals series

Owning two championships with an eye on a third in the same season is as good a reason as any for San Miguel Beer guard Chris Ross to feel confident heading to his team’s final-esque clash with Barangay Ginebra.

San Miguel and Ginebra collide at 7 p.m. at Mall of Asia Arena on Wednesday, right after the 4:15 p.m. game between TNT and Rain Or Shine, as the PBA Governors’ Cup quarterfinals continue.

All Ginebra and TNT need is to win their respective games to advance to the next round.

But especially in Ginebra’s case, that’s way easier said than done.

The Beermen are on a mission to complete the coveted Grand Slam, and they’re facing the same team they demolished in the Philippine Cup finals earlier this year to bag the title.

The defending Governors’ Cup champions have lost 2 of 3 games after rattling off 7 wins in a row. Their last game was forgettable — a 29-point beating at the hands of TNT.
