Four teams clash for PVL top spot
MANILA, Philippines — Ateneo clashes with Far Eastern University and Adamson tackles Arellano University today as they dispute the solo lead in their respective groups in women’s division of the Premier Volleyball League Collegiate Conference at the Filoil Flying V Center in San Juan.
The Lady Eagles dumped the Jose Rizal Lady Bombers, 25-17, 25-15, 25-15, in last week’s opener while the Lady Tams overpowered the San Sebastian Lady Stags, 25-17, 25-21, 25-14, last Sunday, making their 6:30 p.m. Group A duel a match to watch.
The Lady Chiefs, meanwhile, racked up two straight wins, beating the St. Benilde Blazers, 25-20, 25-22, 25-17, and the San Beda Red Spikers, 25-22, 25-21, 25-18, to seize the Group B lead.
But they expect an uphill battle in their 4 p.m. clash with the Lady Falcons, who stunned the UP Lady Maroons, 17-25, 25-21, 19-25, 25-19, 15-9, last Monday.
