Confident Ross, Beermen unfazed by odds entering playoffs
Facing what could be the toughest challenge to their Grand Slam drive yet, the San Miguel Beermen have their work cut out for them entering the 2017 PBA Governors’ Cup playoffs as the sixth seed.
Chris Ross, however, remains upbeat despite the situation that the Beermen are in.
“We play our best when our backs are against the wall. When the cards are stacked against us, we play our best basketball,” Ross said after San Miguel blew a big lead and lost to Meralco, 104-101 on Sunday.
The loss means San Miguel will have to beat defending champion Barangay Ginebra twice in the quarterfinals to move on.
But it’s not like the Beermen haven’t faced seemingly insurmountable leads before and won.
