Castro, Glen Rice Jr. combine for 64 points as TNT routs Ginebra
With big numbers from Jayson Castro and Glen Rice Jr., TNT handed Barangay Ginebra a stinging 121-92 defeat while becoming the first team to enter the Top 4 in the PBA Governors' Cup quarterfinals at Araneta Coliseum on Saturday.
The KaTropa were able to foil the Gin Kings from gaining an easy finish to the Top 4, with Rice firing 36 points to go with his 9 rebounds and 4 steals.
Castro added 28 points, 7 assists, 4 rebounds and a steal to give TNT its 8th win in 11 games, while Troy Rosario and Roger Pogoy chipped in 15 points each.
Kelly Williams also had a productive night with 10 points, including a thunderous reverse dunk in the fourth.
TNT led by as many as 32 points after a huge effort in the second half that saw the KaTropa making the most of their attempts.
“We always talked about everybody pitching in for us to be successful in every game. It seems today players were really focused on the task,” TNT coach Nash Racela said.
