MANILA, Philippines – For the second time in the NCAA Season 93 men's basketball tournament, Arellano University and Jose Rizal University (JRU) engaged in a thrilling shootout that needed more than 40 minutes to resolve.

In the first round, it was Kent Salado who had the last word, draining the game-winning jumper for a 73-72 overtime victory.

When they met again in the second round, however, one overtime period was still not enough, as the Chiefs needed a full 50 minutes to hack out a thrilling 115-109 victory over the Heavy Bombers on Thursday night at the FilOil Flying V Centre.

It was a considerable upset, as the Chiefs entered the game on the heels of a crushing loss to San Beda College, while the Heavy Bombers had won four consecutive games.

But behind a stunning clutch shot from Zach Nicholls and a superb game from their bench, the Chiefs weathered an inefficient shooting game from Kent Salado to claim only their fourth victory of the season, and send JRU reeling to its fourth loss.
