American player apologizes to Chooks, Pinoy fans
BC Astana import Justin Carter on Sunday issued an apology to Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas and its fans after calling a controversial tweet on Saturday.
Carter shot a woeful 3-of-21 from the field for 10 points in BC Astana's 65-73 loss to Chooks in their first game of the 2017 FIBA Asia Champions Cup in Chenzhou, China.
Afterward, the American player said on Twitter that he "just lost to the sorriest team I ever played against."
He immediately came under fire from Philippine fans. His original tweet had 784 replies against only 13 retweets and 40 likes.
On Sunday evening, Carter appeared to have had a change of heart.
"Want to apologize to the Chook (sic) to go fans," he tweeted. "Y'all beat us fair and square."
