Adamson's Galanza may be back in time for UAAP Season 80

MANILA, Philippines – Adamson University star Jema Galanza is expected to recover from a gruesome ankle injury in time for the UAAP Season 80 women's volleyball tournament next year.

Akari Sports revealed that Galanza has been diagnosed with a tibiotalar dislocation on her right ankle following an awkward fall in the third set of the Lady Falcons' Premier Volleyball League game against College of St. Benilde Monday.

Adamson coach Air Padda admitted after the game – a straight sets win for Adamson – that Galanza was going to be out for the rest of the PVL Collegiate Conference, and may be unable to play in the UAAP Season 80 tournament.

It would have been a big blow for Galanza, who is in her final year of eligibility for the Lady Falcons, and for Adamson, which aims to return to the Final 4.

Fortunately for Galanza and Adamson, the injury was not as serious as originally feared.
