Valdez gets go signal to join Creamline in PVL semis

MANILA – "The Phenom" Alyssa Valdez will be returning to the Philippine Volleyball League on Saturday as she got the green light to suit up for Creamline Cool Smashers in the best-of-three semifinal affair against BaliPure Water Defenders.

According to Larong Volleyball sa Pilipinas Inc. (LVPI) acting President Peter Cayco, Valdez had the go signal to play for her club team just a couple of days since her arrival in the Philippines after a 17-day rigid training of the national team in Japan.

Valdez went straight to Katipunan just hours after landing in Manila from Japan to attend practice with the undefeated Cool Smashers.

In an interview at the airport, the main gunner of Creamline said she hopes the LVPI will allow her to play in Game One of the semifinals in PVL and help her team anew.

“I'm really hoping na makabalik ako and makatulong and maka-contribute talaga sa team,” said Valdez. “We really have to talk para maganda naman ang kakalabasan ng lahat.”

Valdez also said she is aware of the commitment she has with her club team. She skipped three games of Creamline in the eliminations for the national team’s Japan training.
