Star downs June Mar-less San Miguel
Ian Sangalang came up big again for Star finishing with 18 points and 11 rebounds, as the Hotshots defeated San Miguel 104-98 in the PBA Governors' Cup at Araneta Coliseum on Friday.
Even without June Mar Fajardo, who missed the game because of a calf muscle injury, San Miguel engaged Star in a tight contest.
But a 15-2 run in a 7-minute span in the fourth quarter catapulted Star to a 95-85 lead after trailing 81-78.
It was mostly the locals who played key roles on offense in the fourth.
Sangalang scored 8 points and Rodney Brondial came off the bench to score 6 of his 10 in the same quarter for Star, which raised its record to 3-0.
