San Beda escapes Las Pinas with victory vs Perpetual

Robert Bolick’s shot went missing inside the UPHSD Gym in Las Pinas on Thursday.

Still, he was more than capable of doing all the other things.

WELL-EARNED WIN. San Beda came out on top in their defensive struggle against Perpetual.
Bolick’s offensive rebound and free throws with under seven seconds remaining coupled with Clint Doliguez’s clutch three pushed San Beda College past pesky home team University of Perpetual Help, 57-53, and all the way to a fifth consecutive victory in the NCAA 93 Men’s Basketball Tournament.

Experiencing for the first time the NCAA on Tour, head coach Boyet Fernandez was nothing but satisfied that they came away with a well-earned win that raises their record to 7-1. “Even if this is an ugly win, I’ll take it,” he told reporters post-game.

It almost wasn’t meant to be, however, as Gab Dagangon and Kieth Pido got together to give the home team a 53-52 lead with 1:13 left on the clock.
