Meralco, Rain or Shine switch Gilas cadets
MANILA, Philippines – Meralco has sent Ed Daquioag to Rain or Shine in exchange for Mike Tolomia, the PBA announced on Monday in another case of cadet-for-cadet trade.
This marks the second time that a Gilas cadet has been swapped for another, after GlobalPort traded Von Pessumal to San Miguel Beer for Arnold Van Opstal.
Daquioag, a standout from University of Santo Tomas, averaged 5.7 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 1.2 assists for the Bolts in the first two conferences of the season, but saw his playing time plummet in the Commissioner's Cup.
Tolomia, meanwhile, averaged 4.0 points, 0.9 rebound, and 0.9 assist for the Elasto Painters, as he also struggled to crack Rain or Shine's guard rotation.
