Letran's Ambohot shows Arellano Chiefs what they are missing

MANILA, Philippines – Jeo Ambohot was determined to shine in Colegio de San Juan de Letran's first round showdown against Arellano University, as it was his chance to show his former team what they missed out on.

Ambohot spent three years in Arellano's Team B, never managing to crack Team A. Two years ago, he opted to leave Arellano for Letran, where he is now slowly blossoming into a solid performer for the Knights.

In their first meeting in the NCAA Season 93 tournament, Letran hacked out an 82-75 victory over the Chiefs, with Ambohot coming through with a 15-point, 13-rebound, five-block performance. He was at his best in the second quarter, scoring 12 points as the Knights seized control of the game.

"Parang motivation na rin 'yun na ganoon nga, parang tinanggal ako doon, natanggal kasi ako doon sa Arellano," Ambohot admitted after their victory.

"Tapos, parang kinuha ulit nila, tapos umalis na ako, pumunta na ako ng Letran," related the 20-year-old Ambohot, who started out as a middle blocker in his home province of Compostela Valley before falling in love with hoops.

Given the chance to match-up with his former team, Ambohot made sure that he was going to show his worth.
