James Yap thanks ROS teammates for finally beating Star
MANILA -- He didn't contribute much but James Yap finally beat his former team.
For the first time since the blockbuster trade that also involved Paul Lee, Rain or Shine got one over Star as the Elasto Painters scored a 92-88 win over the Hotshots Sunday at the Big Dome.
James Yap, the face of the Purefoods franchise for over a decade before he was shipped to ROS before this current season started, scored exactly zero points in his first win against his former crew but he's happy nonetheless.
That's because his new crew got his back.
"Siyempre masaya. Thank you sa mga teammates ko nakakuha na kami ng isa. Although wala ako sa loob, thank you pa din," Yap said post-game. He played less than 10 minutes in this outing despite getting a starting role.
"Ano ba kami, 0-4 ata kami sa kanila eh. 1-4 na, tatlo pa," he added.
