Hawkeyes sweep CEU to capture 2017 Foundation Cup
Even without Most Valuable Player Raymar Jose, Cignal HD proved to be too much against Centro Escolar University.
The Hawkeyes swept the 2017 PBA D-League season, beating the Scorpions Thursday in Game 2 of the Finals, 79-69, to win the Foundation Cup at the Ynares Sports Center in Pasig.
After a blowout in Game 1, Cignal broke away in the second period of Game 2 after outscoring CEU by 10 points to head to the break up by 15.
The Scorpions desperately tried to rally in the second half but CEU never broke the double-digit barrier as the Hawkeyes swept the series, 2-0.
