Gilas to go full throttle vs Singapore in semis
KUALA LUMPUR – The Gilas cadets promise to leave nothing to chance as they tangle with Singapore in the semifinal round of the 29th SEA Games men’s basketball competition at the MABA Stadium here today.
Game time is at 5 p.m.
But Singapore has shown tremendous improvement the last few years, placing third in the last two editions of the biennial meet in Jakarta in 2013 and at home in 2015.
The Singaporeans posted the same finishes in the 2013 and 2015 SEABA Championships in Medan then in Singapore.
Gilas coach Jong Uichico, the winning coach of the Philippines in the 2013 SEABA and SEAG, said the Singaporeans can compete if taken for granted.
But Uichico assured that won’t be the case.
