Bob Arum explains why sales of Mayweather-McGregor tickets are slow
The Floyd Mayweather Jr.-Conor McGregor showdown is not selling as well at the gates as its organizers had hoped, and boxing promoter Bob Arum has a theory.
“There's a limit to the number of suckers there are,” said Arum, CEO of Top Rank Inc., in an interview with TMZ Sports.
The cheapest ticket for the fight, scheduled to take place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, is priced at $3,500, with the most expensive ones at $10,000 each.
The fight is also being sold at $99.95 HD/$89.95 SD on US pay-per-view.
Arum said the only way the Mayweather-McGregor fight will sell is if organizers cut the ticket and PPV prices.
