Vince Carter still determined to play next season

Vince Carter, 40, is a 19-year NBA veteran, and he's not ready to retire. Carter has maintained that stance for over a year, and Sunday he reiterated his desire to postpone retirement for at least one more season.

"I still think I can compete and play at a high level," Carter told NBA TV on Sunday during the Orlando Pro Summer League broadcast, according to the Orlando Sentinel. "So I’m going to go for it."

Carter still has some spring in his step and gas in the tank, as he played in 73 games during the regular season and averaged 8.0 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.8 assists.

Carter would like to re-sign with the Memphis Grizzlies, but he is willing to listen to offers from other teams. On Monday, Carter will have a meeting with the Sacramento Kings, per ESPN's Chris Haynes.

“[Free agency] just started, so I’m just kind of weighing options and seeing what teams have to say,” Carter said.
