Retooled GlobalPort tests line-up vs Rain or Shine
A revamped GlobalPort will start its PBA Governors' Cup campaign Friday by facing Rain or Shine at the Araneta Coliseum.
The Batang Pier are hoping to improve from their quarterfinals finish in the Commissioner’s Cup where they bowed to the Barangay Ginebra Kings.
GlobalPort recently acquired Arnold Van Opstal after dealing away Gilas cadet Von Pessumal to San Miguel. It also grabbed Ryan Arana who will serve as back up for scoring partners Terrence Romeo and Stanley Pringle.
This was on top of their acquisition of Bradwyn Guinto, Jonathan Gray, and Sean Anthony late in the Commissioner’s Cup.
Serving as their reinforcement, according to the PBA website, is former Georgetown wingman Jabril Trawick.
Meanwhile, Rain or Shine coach Caloy Garcia will again rely on their core that includes two-time MVP James Yap. They will parade J.D. Weatherspoon as their import.
Tip off will be at 7 p.m.
