Pessumal grateful for blossoming career with Gilas, SMB stints

MANILA, Philippines – It's going to be a busy stretch for Von Pessumal.

But not that he's complaining.

The PBA freshman out of Ateneo de Manila University hit two birds with one stone. Following his move to the Commissioner's Cup champions San Miguel Beermen, he is also bound for Taiwan to represent the country in the 39th William Jones Cup this Saturday.

"I'm just thankful," he said. "I got into a team that has a winning culture."

Pessumal, a shooting guard who has proven he can knock down the necessary shots, will have to go back to the drawing board when he tries to acclimate with the Beermen in the coming weeks.

He was shipped from GlobalPort to San Miguel in a swap that featured rarely used and fellow Gilas cadet Arnold van Opstal last Monday.
