Games vs Canada, Lithuania to go a long way – Ravena

Taipei – Gilas Pilipinas ace guard Kiefer Ravena is optimistic that chemistry shouldn’t be a problem when the national team aims for another gold medal in the Southeast Asian Games next month.

With the way the Nationals performed here in the William Jones Cup, Ravena says he already has an idea how to mesh with his SEA Games teammates, particularly the new members of the national team, notably Fil-German Christian Standhardinger and US college player Kobe Paras.3

“It’s a big test for the team, such a young team to be playing in this type of competitions. Magandang preparation for the SEA Games because we played against tough teams like Canada and Lithuania,” says Ravena.

“We just have to learn a lot from each other, tulungan lang kami. By the time the Southeast Asian Games comes, it’s going to be easier for us in terms of chemistry and playing with each other.”

“Iyong amuyan namin sa loob ng court, mas madali siya,” added the onetime Ateneo stalwart who won two UAAP titles with the Blue Eagles (2011, 2012) and clinched two MVP awards (2014, 2015).

Also on the Gilas team in the SEA Games are PBA players Troy Rosario, Baser Amer and Almond Vosotros, cadets Mike Tolomia, Kevin Ferrer, Carl Bryan Cruz and Von Pessumal, and amateurs Raymar Jose and Ray Parks Jr.
