Belingon takes on McLaren at ONE: Quest for Greatness
MANILA, Philippines – Team Lakay's Kevin "The Silencer" Belingon guns for a third straight win when he takes on Fil-Australian fighter Reece "Lightning" McLaren in the undercard of ONE: Quest for Greatness on August 18 at the Stadium Negara in Kuala Lumpur.
Owning a professional record of 15-5, Belingon has made a name for himself as a fierce competitor who can finish his opponents in a variety of methods. He stopped Finnish grappling sensation Toni Tauru in his last bout at ONE: Kings of Destiny in April 2017 with a volley of devastating strikes.
Meanwhile, the 25-year-old McLaren looks to bounce back from his loss to ONE bantamweight champion Bibiano Fernandes in December when he takes on Belingon. The loss to Fernandes snapped McLaren's two-bout winning streak at ONE Championship.
In another bout, Edward Kelly brings Teams Lakay's world-renowned wushu to the ONE Championship stage when he takes on Emilio "The Honey Badger" Urrutia. Kelly has won his last three bouts through spectacular finishes, the most recent of which was a TKO of Indonesia's Sunoto.
Iloilo City's Robin Catalan will see action as well, taking on former strawweight champion Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke in the undercard.
The veteran Rene Catalan, a 2006 Asian Games gold medalist in wushu, will try to book his third straight win against China's 24-yaer-old Bu Hou You Ga.
