When the Cleveland Cavaliers lost to the Golden State Warriors in the NBA finals, casual fans wondered what piece Cleveland could add to be able to dethrone the champions next year.
This week, the Cavaliers instead moved to subtract a key figure in their recent run of success.
David Griffin, the team's general manager responsible for assembling the roster that took Cleveland to 3 straight finals, parted ways with the Cavaliers on Tuesday, sending shockwaves throughout the NBA community.
The decision to let go of Griffin was dumbfounding, considering his track record and, as details of the move started to emerge, that it wasn't ran by LeBron James.
James, still smarting from getting his posterior whipped by the Warriors, was "disappointed" by the development and made his feelings known on Twitter.
James and Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert aren't exactly fond of one another, a relationship that declined precipitously when James left Cleveland in 2010 and Gilbert wrote the now-legendary letter.
