TNT's Pogoy fined for 'groin shot' vs San Miguel's Santos
TNT KaTropa's Roger Pogoy was slapped with a P30,000 fine for deliberately hitting San Miguel's Arwind Santos between the legs during Game 2 of the PBA Commissioner's Cup Finals on Friday.
"Roger Pogoy is fined 30k for FFP2 (flagrant foul 2), an unprovoked & unsportsmanlike act w/ intent to hurt by deliberately hitting the groin of Arwind Santos," the league announced through its social media account.
The "groin shot" happened in the third quarter of Game 2 wherein the Beermen took a 102-88 victory over the KaTropa.
The rookie was meted flagrant foul 2 for the attack and was automatically ejected from the game.
He ended up scoreless after a superb outing in Game 1 where he scored 27 points to lift TNT to a 104-102 win.
Ironically, Santos and Pogoy both played for the Far Eastern University Tamaraws during their collegiate years.
