SMB's Rhodes will be extra motivated in PBA Finals
MANILA, Philippines – San Miguel import Charles Rhodes has plenty of motivation heading into their best-of-seven Finals series in the 2017 PBA Commissioner's Cup against the TNT KaTropa.
After all, it marks the first time that he has advanced to the finals of a tournament as a professional basketball player.
"I've been in like five semifinals," Rhodes said. "So I know what it feels like. I know what the pains to not get to the Promised Land. That's why it was so emotional for me."
"And if I win it, it's going to be more emotional for me," he added.
Rhodes is already determined to make it to the "Promised Land," so to speak, and to add even more fuel to his fire, his family will be on hand to watch Game 3 of the series.
"I'm flying my wife, I'm flying my mother. My mother has never seen me play overseas, and she's never been overseas," he revealed. "So everything is going to be very, very emotional for me, and I want my mom to be here to witness that."
