Pagunsan running second in Queen’s Cup; Que 4th-6th
MANILA, Philippines - Juvic Pagunsan birdied three of his last four holes yesterday for a three-under 68 and a share of second place heading to the last round of the Queen’s Cup in Koh Samui in Thailand.
Pagunsan had two birdies and a double bogey on the front nine and looked headed to an even round until he found his touch and birdied Nos. 15, 17 and 18 for a 203 total.
With his previous rounds of 68-67, Pagunsan is just a stroke behind leader Nicholas Fung of Malaysia (68-202) and tied with Thaworn Wiratchant of Thailand (70-203).
Pagunsan enters the final round at the par-71 Santiburi Samui Country Club with a shot at victory in the $500,000 event, along with countryman Angelo Que.
With his 69 following previous rounds of 65-70, Que gained a share of fourth place with three others at 204.
