Manager asks: Who wants to see Pacquiao fighting an MMA champ?
If Manny Pacquiao were to face off with an MMA fighter, would combat-sports fans be keen to watch it?
Ali Abdelaziz, an executive of an MMA management outfit, posed this question on Twitter: "Who wants to see @Cody_Nolove vs @mannypacquiao?"
The suggestion is obviously piggybacking off the rise in popularity of the Floyd Mayweather Jr.-Conor McGregor showdown.
Unlike McGregor, however, Garbrandt has more experience as an amateur boxer.
According to MMA Imports, Garbrandt earned an amateur boxing record of 31-1.
Garbrandt's name may not resonate with casual fight fans as much as McGregor's but, going by just his credentials, Garbrandt could actually have a better shot beating a boxer, although maybe not of the caliber of Pacquiao, an 8-division champion.
