G’Port to tap NBA D-L vet for Gov Cup
MANILA, Philippines - GlobalPort is hoping to sign up NBA D-League veteran and former Georgetown University star Jabril Trawick as the Batang Pier gear up for the season-ending PBA Governors’ Cup starting next month.
The 6-foot-5 Trawick suited up for the Sioux Falls Skyforce in the NBA D-League, norming 13 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 37 games last season.
GlobalPort governor and AirAsia executive Erick Arejola is hopeful they would be able to enlist Trawick, believing he’s got the talent the team needs in the upcoming tournament.
“We’re still finalizing the details, only the minor ones,” said Arejola.
In his senior stint with the Hoyas, Trawick averaged 9.1 points with 3.6 rebounds and 2.4 assists.
He also emerged as the team’s top three-point shooter after making 40.7 percent of his shots.
