Fernandez sees Potts thriving in PBA
MANILA, Philippines – Cignal HD head coach Boyet Fernandez lauded Fil-Am cager Davon Potts, who played his last PBA D-League game for the Hawkeyes Tuesday and complete his PBA eligibility.
Potts also had to exit the D-League before the NCAA eligibility meeting on June 28, as part of the tournament's rules.
Potts ended his PBA D-League Foundation Cup stint on a high note after leading the Hawkeyes to a 93-75 win at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.
"I gave him the chance to really show himself. Hopefully PBA scouts and coaches will give him a chance to play," Fernandez said.
Potts, for his part, did not disappoint and finished with 15 points and three assists.
The past three weeks had been exhausting for the 24-year-old, who also played for his NCAA team San Beda in the FilOil preseason tournament alongside his Cignal stint.
